My husband is prone to boils, is there anything he can do to prevent them?

Answer:
Bathe. Every day.
My Grandma use to say make a batch of cookies and crumbly the eggs shell in it. I wouldn't recommend it, a dermatologist would be a better idea.
Boils are running rampant right now. Most are caused by a staph infection. Staph bacteria is a normal bacteria found in the nose, but it can become overgrown for various reasons and manifest itself in the form of boils. The boils are painful and can be deadly if left untreated. Get him to go to the doctor and the doctor will give him some antibiotics that should clear the problem up. My husband had the same thing and he got one the size of a tennis ball and he FINALLY believed what I was telling him and went to the doctor. He got some Bactrim DS and has had no more boils.
The skin is the body's largest organ, followed by the lymphatic system. Both fight infections and disease by eliminating toxins.I suggest that if he chronically suffers from boils, it is his body trying to DETOX some toxic substances ... does he drink alcohol, smoke, drink tons of cofee or soda...? Is he on any new medications?? Does he work in an oily, smoky, dusty environment??Cleansing baths,
steam baths,
saunas,
would be good to help his skin to purge itself, but more importantly, a detox diet would be of better long-term help to assist the body in cleansing out the impurities or infections it is apparently fighting..There could be a lot more to this than just a skin blockage or irritation.this page has a lot of information about skin rejuvenation and home recipes for skin masks etc.
http://www.best-natural-cures-health-gui...This online raw food guide mentions skin cleansing and detoxing through managing your nutrition
http://www.best-natural-cures-health-gui...There are more, but you can find them as you read more.My husband also used to use something Im pretty sure he called "black cream" although it was white... he used to get a tiny pot from the chemist, and it was supposed to "draw out" what was in the boil and dry it out. I would rather use a home made poultice, for instance a recipe with an oatmeal and honey base...
http://www.best-natural-cures-health-gui...also some really good bath recipes here to help clean his skin regularly
http://www.best-natural-cures-health-gui...Also be aware that sometimes a cold or flu causes boils too, as the body tries to fight it off...If the boils increase in size, or multiply, see your doctor in case he needs antibiotics as well.
around where i live boils and staph have become rampet in our schools and daycares. My 13 yr ols son has had a problem w/ boils...( for about a 6 mth period) my grandmother used to give my dad a pack of raisians a day because he had problems w/ boils as a child...I give my son a pack a day.h e washes with regular Dail soap. I also wash every load of laundry w/ Tide bleach for colors... We have not had a problem for app 4 mths... We he did get them i would put Ictomal( a drawing agent, Looks like black tar.. can get it at Wal-mart.. have to ask for it, comes in a squeeze tube) it will bring it to a head so it will drain and it will not get big and hard also helped it not get infected( when it did come to a head i would take a rag and soak it in warm water and epson salt and do compresses to it to help it drain easier). then i would put triple anitbiotic cream on it.. we only had to fight staph 2x's ... Hope this helps
If he keeps getting "boils" in his armpits, groin, butt and/or inner thighs, he might be suffering from Hidradenitis Suppurativa. You can check out http://www.hs-usa.org for more info.
