My freind was taking risperdral for 3 months and stopped cold turkey?

how long will it take for the withdrawal syptoms to where off because i think he was taking 0.5 dosage only at night for 3 months and then stopped cold turkey

thats a pretty low dose .. but the symptoms should be gone by now and why did he stop cold turkey ... not suppose to do that any case I hope hes alright

Since that medication is used to help treat schitzophrenics, my advice would be to try and encourage your friend to go back on them, instead of not taking them.0.5 milligrams is not that strong a dosage, but the effects will start wearing off in a week, perhaps 2 weeks, depending on your friend's metabolism.

Risperdal is also given to help children sleep. Many autistic children take it. My 6 yro is taking it until she can have her tonsils and adnoids taken out next month. She can fall asleep but cannot stay asleep. She has been on it for 2.5 months and we have skipped nights with no adverse effects.If he was taking .5 mg for 3 months I believe the only symptoms he should be having is some difficulty falling asleep. He should not suffer insomonia though or withdrawals such as sweating or racing heart.
