My friend's "sinus removal"?

A friend of mine insists that she had her "sinuses removed" as a child. Common sense says, it's impossible to remove a HOLE. Does anyone with any degree of medical expertise have any idea what she might be talking about?
Answer:
Your right you can't remove a sinus, but you can scrape crud and buildup out of them. There are lympnodes that are attached to a degree to the sinus, those can be removed.
She may have meant sinus nodes being removed.
maybe adenoids
Her tonsils, her adenoids (often taken out with tonsils), perhaps the turbinates (another nasal structure)...chances are she means her tonsils.
She probably had her adenoids removed. That is near the sinus area and does effect them in some way. I know I had mine removed as a child due to horrible allergy and sinus problems.
Can you please tell me more? ask her to email me because i am considering having my tonsils and adenoids removed. please! i just posted a question on that too! czrybella@yahoo.com. thanks! please!
