My friends triplet little sisters caught head lice. Am I prone to catching it?

I'm always at my friends house. His 3 little sisters catch head lice every couple of months. It's disgusting I know. But how and why do they catch it so much? Where does it come from? My head is starting to itch now. Do you think that I've caught head lice?
Answer:
Anyone can get head lice. If the larve are not removed either chemically or with a comb the lice will still be there. As far as your itch you might be thinking about it but you should have someone check.
have you had your head on any of their furniture? pillows? blankets? then you could have it. they probably get it because they are not properly cleaning their bedding, cars, furniture after each outbreak of lice. all their stuffed animals, etc need to be cleaned as well.
don't use their hair brushes, ponytail holders, etc. keep your hair up when you are over there and don't lounge on their furniture
very very catchable.
Most everyone is prone to catching lice because of how easily it spreads. Chances are, your friends little sisters probably caught lice at school and it wasn't completely treated, so that's why they keep having lice. It can be really difficult to get rid of for some people. When his little sisters get lice, do their parents wash all the sheets, towels, blankets, treat the fabric on chairs/couches, etc? Also, they should put all their stuffed animals in plastic bags and tie them up for two weeks... the nits (eggs) can get on stuffed animals. Bagging them for that long helps to kill them. You might want to get checked out for lice. Have someone check your hair. What they need to look for is live bugs or the nits. Nits are small and oval shaped and kind of whitish-yellowish-grayish and are attached to the hair strands. You can tell nits from dandruff or buildup of hair products because dandruff/hair product buildup should come out easily if you brush it out with your fingers or blow on it. Nits are harder to get out...you actually have to use your fingernails to get them out and it takes some effort to get them out. But you may not have it...you mentioned your head itching. I think head lice is one of those power-of-suggestion type things...you think about it and then suddenly you start itching :) Hope this helps.
you could get it easy stay away when they have it.
